@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev What software?
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev It could be a good learning experience for you as well. You will have a better understanding of Linux which is what most of web technology in the world runs on anyway once it's deployed
@theafr86 @study_web_dev The softwares I need requires a 64-bit laptop. 😔
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev I use mac os windows and Linux they are all pretty similar from the terminal lol. You should also get familiar with the terminal. It's much faster than using github desktop
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev No it doesn't but it will speed up your computer dramatically 32 bit and 64 bit has to do with the instructions set on your cpu and that is hardware that can't be changed on a laptop easily if at all
@theafr86 @study_web_dev I am already familiar with windows. And again, my computer is 32-bit. Does installing Linux os turn it to 64-bit?
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev This is how I fix old slow computers most people like Linux more once they get to used to it.
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev 4. There should be an option to boot from usb choose that and the Linux distro will start installing. Make sure you have an internet connection to upgrade your Linux distro to the current version
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev 3. Plug in your usb and restart! There is a special key on most computers that you hold down or hit repeatedly during the boot process most of the time it's the delete key but you should check by paying close attention to your boot screen or using google.
@theafr86 @study_web_dev Thank you very much.
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev 2. Have a usb big enough to fit the os you just downloaded and use this program to prep it https://t.co/bXc6FVratd It should be a simple process to format the usb once it's done eject it and make sure your computer is ready meaning have all your projects backed up somewhere Source
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev 1. First find a distro that meets your system requirements. Pop os is pretty bad ass and it's what I use https://t.co/S8ZZtd46PW Just in case you can't use that here is one that works with 32 bit https://t.co/YYADsxbuPe
@theafr86 @study_web_dev How do I do that?
@Bonarhyme @study_web_dev Dude install Linux on that thing it will feel like new
RT @study_web_dev: I had a crap laptop for 5 years. I learned to code on it I went to work with it. I started a freelancing business wit…
